Job summary

Maker's Pride in Itasca, IL is seeking Maintenance Technicians I–III to perform diversified maintenance on machines and plant facilities, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance, while documenting PM activities.

Must provide your own tools. Starting pay ranges by level with a shift differential and comprehensive benefits begin on day 90.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year trades degree or 4 years plant maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• English reading/writing/speaking required; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance according to skill level and safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Detect faulty operations, report to maintenance manager.
• Utilize Microsoft Office to order parts and schedule jobs.
• Perform work safely and in compliance with GMPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Sign-on Bonus Incentive

We are providing a $1,000, $3,000, or $5,000 retention bonus for every new hire starting as a Maintenance Tech I, II, or III at the Itasca, IL facility. The payout is broken down as below:

• 50% after 90 days of employment.
• 50% after 180 days of employment.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Tech performs highly diversified duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of machines, equipment and plant facilities. This includes scheduled, unscheduled or emergency repairs. Perform regular preventive maintenance which also includes maintaining supporting documentation for the PM’s.

Must provide their own tools.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance according to skill level and pursuant to safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make-adjustments.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager.
• Utilizing Microsoft Office, order and schedule parts as well as jobs.
• Perform work in a safe manner and use Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Has completed or is working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Able to communicate and take direction from Maintenance Manager and communicate effectively with line workers, Leads, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
• Attention to detail.
• Legible record-keeping and data entry skills.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and have creative problem-solving abilities.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Welding and fabrication, full understanding of 3 Phase electrical, three phase motor controls. Troubleshoot AC & DC drives.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment - exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels, and varying temperatures.
• Depending on which location, our environments can be very warm or refrigerated.
• Team environment - must be able to work well with others and communicate in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• May be required to work weekend and night hours to fill in as needed.

Starting Pay: Maintenance Technician I $29.70/hr, Maintenace Technician II $33.60, Maintenance Technician III $35.20 and a shift differential is offered for 2nd shift opportunities. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the 90th day of employment.
