Job summary

Hunt Military Communities is seeking Maintenance Technicians at levels I–III to provide general maintenance for rental housing. You will troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and related systems, document work, and assist in preparing vacated units.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service requests for HVAC, appliances, water heaters, plumbing, painting, carpentry and other maintenance tasks.
  • Perform skilled work in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, or locksmith trades.
  • Document all work and provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain tools and equipment; keep ready for use.
  • Follow PPE guidelines and chemical safety.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and replace filters as needed.
  • Assist with making-ready vacated units (painting, sanding, tiling, drywall, etc.).
  • Handle emergency maintenance (water/ sewage issues, fires, leaks).
  • Address unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Operate Company vehicle or use personal/rental vehicle for work.

Hiring for Maintenance Technicians at all levels: I, II, and III

Overview

The Maintenance Technician will provide general maintenance to rental housing. This position may also perform work to get rental units ready during change of occupancy. This role is a valuable member of the maintenance team and is responsible for checking, troubleshooting, making, and documenting routine repairs in the following areas: air conditioning, water heaters, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and other building maintenance areas. Will frequently work outdoors in all weather conditions, as well as in attics, crawl spaces, and other tight spaces, depending on the maintenance requirement.

What You Will Do
  • Respond to service requests including furnaces, air‑conditioning systems, appliances, water heaters and solar collection tanks, disposals, general plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other required maintenance items, as may be required.
  • Perform skilled work in one or more trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, or locksmith requiring basic knowledge and skills and basic troubleshooting abilities.
  • Respond to service requests providing excellent customer service and document all work in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain equipment such as tools, gauges, snakes, drills, etc., in ready repair.
  • Understand and follow the proper use of equipment and chemicals including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow and adhere to an established preventive maintenance program and perform the required maintenance including replacement of filters, etc.
  • Assist in the make‑ready of vacated units including painting, sanding, and varnishing, floor tile removal and replacement, ceramic tile replacement, drywall repair, fixture repair or replacement, floor stripping, waxing, and polishing, window repair or replacement, etc., as will from time to time be required. Similar work may also be required on the exterior of the home to make ready.
  • Perform emergency maintenance, including but not limited to sewage back‑ups, water main and/or lateral breaks (dig to expose line, repair, and replace soil as needed), fires, weather‑related damage, other types of water leaks, appliance repairs, etc.
  • Ensure that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Vehicle: This position requires driving for the Company using either 1) a Company vehicle, at any frequency from rarely to constantly; or, 2) a personal or rental vehicle to conduct Company business more than 50% of the time to perform work duties.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.
  • 1-3 years experience in building maintenance required.
  • Have general knowledge of the maintenance trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions and perform physical work, as well as to lift weights of up to 50 pounds regularly and above 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Basic understanding of safety practices.
  • Requires use of technology platforms on a daily basis.
  • Driver’s License, valid and in state required.
