Job summary

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician I for Horizons Park. This floating position covers vacancies at all Community Parks and includes duties such as cleaning restrooms, mowing, mulching, shelter upkeep, rescue boat operation, and operating tractors, blowers, and handheld power tools.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED and some grounds/maintenance experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning restrooms and shelters.

Work Schedule

March - November: Thursday - Saturday 6:30 am - 2:30 pm

November - February: Wednesday & Thursday 8 hours per day

General Statement of Duties

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a person for a part-time position as a Maintenance Technician I for Horizons Park. This will also be a floating position to cover possible vacancies at all Community Parks. Duties include cleaning restrooms, mulching, cleaning the shelter, rescue boat operation, mowing, mulching, working with the public and performing various projects using a variety of equipment including tractors, blowers and various handheld power tools.

Minimum Education And Experience

Graduation from high school or GED and some experience in basic building or grounds maintenance

A valid driver's license is required.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for the minimum requirements.
