Job summary

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician I to work outdoors at Triad Park. You will perform routine and special maintenance, operate equipment, and assist with building operations, landscaping, and prep of shelters and facilities for customers.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, safe operation of vehicles and tools, and a valid driver’s license. Uniforms are provided; benefits include vacation, sick leave, holidays, and retirement

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a variety of outdoor maintenance equipment including tractors, mowers, blowers, weed eaters, golf carts and chainsaws.
• Knowledge of minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs for park structures.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Direct contact with customers daily; courtesy and manners required.
• Safety is a top priority at the park.
• High school diploma or GED and some experience in basic building or grounds maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must demonstrate ability to safely operate small to medium motorized equipment.
• An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special maintenance tasks at Triad Park.
• Prepare shelters and facilities for customers and clean facilities after use.
• Clean restrooms, empty trash, litter pick up, pressure wash, and change light bulbs.
• Assist supervisors with larger facility maintenance tasks as needed.
