Job summary

Phelps Industries LLC in Rockford, IL seeks a Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot and repair production and facility equipment. You will support predictive maintenance programs and operate a range of tools to keep machines running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, performing preventive maintenance, reading manuals and work orders, and maintaining clean, safe work areas in a high-demand manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of manufacturing experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills, plus HVAC experience.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Strong trouble-shooting and diagnostic abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain production machines and plant facilities.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electrical meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, report issues to supervision and maintain a safe, clean work area.
