Job summary

HyAxiom, Inc. in Connecticut is seeking a world-class Maintenance Technician I to troubleshoot and maintain automated manufacturing equipment, read schematics, and perform preventive maintenance with a multimeter.

You will collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize work orders, ensure safety, and keep robotics and conveyors running at production pace. The role emphasizes proactive maintenance and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance certification or equivalent training.
• Five years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical and hydraulic experience; pneumatic is a plus.
• OSHA and electrical certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and setup robotics, conveyors, and control-driven equipment.
• Repair, program, and troubleshoot control systems on plant equipment.
• Calibrate, repair, program and troubleshoot robotic systems (Fanuc and ABB).
• Work closely with manufacturing, engineering and maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Communicate with supervisors/managers about production-impacting issues.
• Assist with inventory of spare parts and preventive/predictive maintenance.

Job Information

We are looking for a world classMaintenance Technicianto join our team. The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for effectively troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures on equipment. Must be able to read schematics and parts drawings, perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and facilities, and be proficient with the use of a multi meter. The technician should be able to utilize downtime reports to evaluate and prioritize work orders according to production needs and complete task in a timely manner. This person will work with the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to execute work orders and is also responsible for performing on-going audits relating to equipment performance and safety.

The technician is responsible for effectively troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures on automated, manufacturing machinery, specifically but not limited to. He or she must be able to read schematics and parts drawings, perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and facilities, and be proficient with the use of a multi meter. Utilization of downtime reports to evaluate and prioritize workload according to production needs is a necessity. Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner and work directly with the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to execute work orders.

Role & Responsibility

• Responsible for the maintenance, repair and setup of robotics, conveyor systems, and control driven equipment.
• Repair, program, and troubleshoot control systems on plant equipment.
• Calibrate, repair, program and troubleshoot robotic systems (Fanuc and ABB).
• Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and maintenance to get machines up and running to capacity.
• Communicate with supervisors and managers to inform of situations that may impact production.
• Contact and interact with contractors for maintenance issues requiring outside expertise.
• Compile records of equipment and machinery information to use as maintenance resources.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts for all machines to minimize downtime.
• Assist with preventive and predictive maintenance on the facilities CNC and production machinery when necessary.
• Move and install plant and building equipment, layout and make necessary pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic line connections.
• Design and program control circuits for PLC controlled equipment.

Job Requirement

Education & Experience

• Successful completion of a certification program in industrial maintenance at a Junior College or equivalent formal training in a related field with five years of industrial maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or general equivalency.
• Strong electrical and hydraulic experience - Pneumatic experience is a plus.
• OSHA certification preferred.
• Electrical certification preferred.

Knowledge & Skill

• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) preferred.
• Ability to enter time using clocking device and MRO work order system.
• Ability to program and teach Fanuc/ABB robots.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
