Job summary

WellPet, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for the 2nd shift to maintain and repair production equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations on the line.

The role involves troubleshooting injection molding, extrusion, robotics, and conveyors, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting quality and safety programs. A high school diploma and 1–3 years related experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance for safety and wellbeing of employees and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain machinery used in production.
  • Troubleshoot process and automation equipment (packaging, injection molding, extrusion, robotics, conveyors).
  • Optimize process parameters with production for quality products.
  • Interpret schematics, blueprints, manuals, work instructions, and other docs.
  • Inspect products for defects and propose process adjustments.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary work area at all times.
  • Participate in audits and assist in procedures and corrective actions.
  • Complete daily maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Adhere to HACCP plans and GMPs.
  • Diagnose and resolve PLC-operated packing equipment.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Providing upmost care and maintenance for the safety and wellbeing of our employees and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain machinery used in the manufacture of products
  • Troubleshoot process and automation equipment, including packaging, injection molding, extrusion, robotics, and conveyors
  • Optimize process parameters in coordination with production to obtain quality products
  • Interpret schematics, blueprints, manuals, work instructions, and other technical documents
  • Inspect products for surface defects and flaws to propose process adjustments
  • Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs as needed
  • Must maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area at all times
  • Participate in the audits and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions
  • Completes all required daily and maintenance reports & documentation
  • Must adhere to the plant’s HACCP plans
  • Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Diagnose and resolve PLC operated packing equipment
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Position Summary

Properly perform preventative maintenance, while ensuring a proper production flow, to the production lines.

Preferred Experience
  • Troubleshooting issues with injection molding, extrusion, robotics, and automation equipment.
  • Optimize equipment process settings to create consistent product
  • Assist production operators on basic troubleshooting
  • Installation, removal, and storing of molds based on production schedule
  • Automation adjustments (speeds, feeds, timing, etc.) of packaging equipment
  • Install water lines, airlines, hot runners, or other machine utilities as needed
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on machines in collaboration with maintenance team
  • Electrical Knowledge: 110 to 480 volts
  • Use of handheld power tools
Safety
  • Completes safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager
  • Responsible to participate in mandatory safety training program requirements.
  • Required to report all safety issues, near misses, and injuries.
Quality & Food Safety
  • Completes quality and food safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Responsible to participate in mandatory food safety and quality training program requirements.
  • Preserves the integrity of the BRC system through adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the Quality Policy Manual. Takes actions necessary to resolve food safety and quality system deficiencies.
  • Required to report food safety and quality system failures and take actions necessary to preserve the BRC system.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school education
  • 1 - 3 years related field experience
