Job summary

Shoals Technologies Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our Alabama operations. You will ensure safe, efficient operation of plant equipment, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and support ongoing improvements in safety and reliability.

As part of a skilled maintenance team, you will work with the latest tools and systems, maintain accurate work orders, and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and safety personnel to minimize downtime and keep production

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance in manufacturing.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Technical certifications in maintenance or mechatronics preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance to maintain plant safety, quality and reliability.
  • Strong knowledge of hand tools, testing equipment and best practices.
  • Assist in preventative/predictive maintenance on wire processing equipment and injection molding machines.
  • Conduct repairs: belts, hoses, o-rings, seals, lubrication, filter changes.
  • Assist with basic electrical repairs under supervision.
  • Support machine adjustments and reduce downtime.
  • Document work orders and keep maintenance area clean.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve equipment reliability.

Description

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for ensuring effective operation and maintenance of the plant and machinery. The Maintenance Technician I will also implement plant safety initiatives and communicate effectively with internal and external customers. The maintenance technician will also perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability
  • Strong knowledge of hand tools, testing equipment and maintenance best practices
  • Assist in performing preventative/predictive maintenance on wire processing equipment, injection molding machines, and other assigned plant equipment
  • Conduct general repairs and swap outs of belts, hoses, o rings, seals, lubrication, filter changes, ect.
  • Conduct basic electrical repairs under supervision
  • Assist with machine adjustments such as pressure and alignment for key components
  • Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems under supervision.
  • Assist in assigned maintenance projects to support production and/or safety initiatives and improvements
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Strong understanding of MRO/Storeroom processes and procedures
  • Complete assigned work orders and unplanned/emergency tasks as required
  • Respond promptly to production floor breakdowns and prioritize repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to complete daily, weekly, monthly duties
  • Document work order information/completion
  • Provide support to the team in the maintenance excellence program and provide continuous improvement ideas
  • Participate and actively support all plant initiatives such as minimizing or eliminating downtime and ensuring plant optimization
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement process improvements that enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic Mechanical Aptitude
  • Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
