Job summary

Shoals Technologies Group, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to uphold reliable plant operations at our Muscle Shoals, Alabama facility. You will perform routine maintenance, support safety initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read manuals and use hand tools; technical certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude required.
• Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks safely and efficiently to improve plant safety, quality, and reliability.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment per best practices.
• Conduct preventative/predictive maintenance on wire processing equipment, injection molding machines, and other plant equipment.
• Replace belts, hoses, o-rings, seals; perform lubrication and filter changes.
• Assist with electrical repairs under supervision.
• Assist with machine adjustments for pressure and alignment.
• Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Assist in maintenance projects and new equipment installations.
• Maintain a clean, organized maintenance area and document work orders.

Description

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for ensuring effective operation and maintenance of the plant and machinery. The Maintenance Technician I will also implement plant safety initiatives and communicate effectively with internal and external customers. The maintenance technician will also perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability
• Strong knowledge of hand tools, testing equipment and maintenance best practices
• Assist in performing preventative/predictive maintenance on wire processing equipment, injection molding machines, and other assigned plant equipment
• Conduct general repairs and swap outs of belts, hoses, o rings, seals, lubrication, filter changes, ect.
• Conduct basic electrical repairs under supervision
• Assist with machine adjustments such as pressure and alignment for key components
• Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems under supervision.
• Assist in assigned maintenance projects to support production and/or safety initiatives and improvements
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Strong understanding of MRO/Storeroom processes and procedures
• Complete assigned work orders and unplanned/emergency tasks as required
• Respond promptly to production floor breakdowns and prioritize repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion
• Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to complete daily, weekly, monthly duties
• Document work order information/completion
• Provide support to the team in the maintenance excellence program and provide continuous improvement ideas
• Participate and actively support all plant initiatives such as minimizing or eliminating downtime and ensuring plant optimization
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement process improvements that enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Mechanical Aptitude
• Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field strongly preferred.
• Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
