Respond and attend to guest repair requests. Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio). Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate each day’s activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in categories such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of repair areas. Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and perform inventory duties. Use Lockout/Tagout systems before maintenance work. Perform landscaping repairs and external landscaping sprinkler maintenance. Display basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
Follow all safety and security policies; report hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training; store flammable materials properly. Ensure personal and uniform appearance are professional, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Adhere to quality standards. Develop positive relationships with colleagues, support team goals, and respond to concerns. Communicate clearly and professionally. Perform physical tasks such as lifting objects up to 50 pounds, moving on stairs and ladders, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Use computers to locate and enter work-related information. Perform other duties as requested.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Related Work Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting. Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
Supervisory Experience: None required.
License or Certification: Driver’s License
