Job summary

Schwan's is seeking a maintenance technician for our Salina, Kansas facility to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging equipment. You will work on the 1st shift from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, ensuring reliable production while adhering to food safety standards.

Starting pay is $25.00 per hour with a $2.00 shift differential for eligible hours; full benefits and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 0–2 years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Follow food safety rules and proper cleaning procedures.
• Handle emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory.
• Work safely and follow OSHA regulations.

What You Will Do:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment like conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smooth and prevent breakdowns.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using the right cleaning procedures and food-grade materials to keep everything up to code.
• Handle emergency repairs when equipment breaks down during production, getting things back up and running as fast as possible to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to make sure you've got what you need when equipment needs fixing or upgrading.
• Always working safely, following OSHA regulations and keeping your area clean and in line with company rules.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• Minimum of 0 to 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter the required paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
