Job summary

Benedictine Living is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform custodial, groundskeeping, and maintenance tasks to keep the facility safe, well-maintained, and attractive in line with regulations. You will help with cleaning, floor care, minor repairs, and grounds upkeep to support residents and staff.

The role involves operating various tools and equipment safely, with duties that may include assistance with building and grounds projects across indoor and outdoor areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in a health care setting.
• Building and grounds maintenance experience.
• Valid Driver’s License as appropriate and acceptable driving record that meets Benedictine requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs general custodial tasks including removing trash, washing windows/walls, moving furniture and supplies.
• Performs floor care such as cleaning, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning.
• Assists with building maintenance and construction work on all facility surfaces.
• Assists with grounds maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal.
• Assists with general repairs to facility and residents’ equipment.
• Operates hand and power tools and maintenance equipment safely.

Overview

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for a variety of general custodial, groundskeeping, and general maintenance tasks that assure the facility, grounds and equipment are safe, well-maintained, and attractive in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

Performs general custodial tasks including, but not limited to, removing trash, washing windows /walls, moving furniture and supplies and fill-in housekeeping duties if needed.

Performs floor care such as cleaning, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning throughout the facility.

Assists with building maintenance and construction work as needed on all surfaces, interior or exterior of facility.

Assists with grounds maintenance, including but not limited to lawn care, snow removal.

Assists with general repairs to facility and residents’ equipment.

Operates numerous hand and power tools, and may be required to use various machines, such as floor care, grounds-keeping, and maintenance equipment safely.
