Job Title: Maintenance Tech 1
Compensation: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and shift
Shifts Available: FT Day shift
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician ensures the safety, functionality, and comfort of healthcare and residential facilities. This role supports operational continuity and helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment for patients, residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to unanticipated facility needs to minimize risk and service disruption.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of buildings, systems, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and applicable codes.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across multiple disciplines.
- Receive on-the-job training in:
- - Electrical: Lighting, outlets, switches, panels, medium-voltage systems.
- - Plumbing: Fixtures, valves, faucets, toilets, drains.
- - HVAC: Filters, coils, compressors, VFDs.
- - Power Plant Systems: Boilers, chillers, water softeners.
- - General Maintenance: Carpentry, painting, workspace modifications, fire/smoke wall repairs.
- - Groundskeeping: Snow removal, exterior building upkeep.
- - Patient Care Equipment: Fire detection systems, pneumatic tube systems.
- Maintain inventory and documentation of parts and repairs.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergencies.
- Attend training sessions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective communication with coworkers, residents, families, and contractors
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform maintenance tasks
Work Environment
- Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and electrical systems
- Occasional contact with bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases
- Interaction with residents, staff, and potentially combative individuals
