Job summary

Gardner White Furniture & Mattress is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the proper functioning of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and demolition tasks. The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues, repairing components, and maintaining accurate work orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Proven maintenance technician experience in manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Strong HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance calls when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
• Repair or replace defective parts/components of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
• Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to schedule to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and fix basic structures, as necessary to ensure functionality.
• Other duties/projects as assigned.
