Young World Physical Education is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician - HVAC in Woodstock, Virginia. Responsibilities include general building maintenance, HVAC troubleshooting, and timely response to work orders.

The position requires a valid Virginia driver's license. The technician must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and be attentive to facility cleanliness.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, for 260 days a year.

Maintenance Technician - HVAC

Provides for the general maintenance of buildings. Assists with performing basic troubleshooting, replacement, repair and preventative maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building doors/hardware, carpentry, and playgrounds.

Location: Woodstock, Virginia, Shenandoah County Public Schools Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responds to written work orders (unscheduled and scheduled) assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Shop Foreman or Maintenance Department Assistant in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains a list of all outstanding work orders assigned to ensure that all work is completed in the time frame allotted. Establishes work priority based on the critical nature of each work order.
  • Effectively communicates outstanding work orders to the department head for immediate assistance by other team members if required.
  • Compiles a list of materials and supplies needed for each job.
  • Responds to emergency request for service.
  • Conforms to all laws, policies and practices of workplace safety.
  • Provides for cleanliness in the assigned work area or areas, maintains county vehicle in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Reports building deficiencies that are observed in the course of the day to the Maintenance Supervisor, Shop Foreman or Maintenance Department Assistant for the sole purpose of providing follow up repairs.
  • Responds to all written correspondence from the department head or other SCPS department or employees in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to the Shenandoah County Public School Board Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Hold a valid Virginia driver's license.

EMPLOYMENT

6:30 am – 3:00 pm, 260 days per year, maintenance pay schedule.
