Job summary

Voyager Technologies, Inc. seeks an on-site Maintenance Technician – HVAC in Pueblo, CO to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems across facilities.

You will handle rooftop units, chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAVs, and related controls, performing preventive maintenance and diagnostics to ensure optimal climate control. The role requires 3+ years of hands-on HVAC experience, a valid driver’s license, and EPA Section 608 certification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of hands-on HVAC experience.
  • Troubleshoot and repair rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and air handling systems.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE, OSHA codes and local mechanical codes.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to site.

The Maintenance Technician – HVAC will be located onsite in Pueblo, CO and reports to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and related mechanical equipment across Voyager's facilities — ensuring optimal climate control, air quality, and energy efficiency in a mission-critical manufacturing and operations environment.

In this role, the essential functions are:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAV systems, exhaust fans, and associated controls.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and facility schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related faults using appropriate test equipment including manifold gauges, multimeters, and combustion analyzers.
  • Safely handle, recover, and recharge refrigerants in compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations; maintain accurate refrigerant logs and comply with all environmental requirements.
  • Read and interpret HVAC schematics, equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to execute work accurately and safely.
  • Inspect, clean, and service ductwork, coils, filters, drains, belts, and other components; identify and elevate issues that require engineering review or capital repair.
  • Apply and enforce proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and all applicable OSHA safety standards. Use of personal protective equipment required.
  • Coordinate with facilities leadership, contractors, and project managers to support maintenance schedules, capital projects, and new equipment commissioning activities.
  • Document all work performed including maintenance logs, service records, and parts usage; maintain accurate records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Perform other job duties assigned to support operational needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of hands‑on experience in commercial or industrial HVAC maintenance, repair, and installation.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of HVAC equipment including rooftop units, split systems, chilled water systems, and building automation controls.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE, OSHA, and local mechanical codes.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project site as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • State or journeyman HVAC license or equivalent trade certification.
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (or Type I/II minimum) for handling and recovery of refrigerants.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (General Industry).
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) and DDC controls; familiarity with Bekhoff BAS
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or government facility environments.
  • Prior military technical MOS or equivalent service background.

Travel, Physical and Government Mandated Requirements

  • Ability to lift, move, or carry items or equipment up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, on rooftops, and on ladders or scaffolding; work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varied weather and environmental conditions. Use of personal protective equipment is required.
  • Some positions or projects may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. Voyager conducts pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Compensation

The good faith hourly range for this role is $34.00–$41.00 / hour at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and certifications. This range reflects base compensation only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
