FCC Environmental Services is seeking a Plant Mechanic to perform comprehensive preventive maintenance and scheduled repairs on fixed equipment in the Material Recovery Facility/Waste Facility. The role involves diagnosing mechanical problems, replacing belts and motors, and fabricating parts as needed.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, strong hydraulic/pneumatic skills, PLC troubleshooting, and welding capabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school certs preferred.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting (12V–480V) and electrical/mechanical aptitude.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems using manuals and expertise.
• Repair and maintain recycling and C&D equipment to maximize uptime and safety.
• Replace belts, motors, hydraulic cylinders, and other components.
• Maintain spares inventory, anticipate parts, and process orders.
• Use hand/power/electrical tools; fabricate parts with machine shop tools; weld/cut as needed.
• Repair or install plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems when required.
• Work safely at heights and follow all safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:Under the direct supervision of the Plant Maintenance Manager, the Plant Mechanic is responsible for the complete Plant preventative maintenance and scheduled repairs of the fixed equipment supported in the Material Recovery Facility Waste FacilityWork Schedule 4am -12pmPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:Diagnose or troubleshoot mechanical problems using charts, technical manuals and expertise.Performs repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment and C&D equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.Replaces conveyor belts, electrical motors, hydraulic cylinders and other mechanical parts.Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.Use hand tools, power tools and electrical tools.Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.Able to cut with torch and weld.May repair and install plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.Follows all safety policies and procedures.Able to work on heights using Aerial Working Platform (boom lift, scissor lifts etc.)Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.Job QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or G.E.D.Experience and Competencies:At least 3-5 years of industrial experience, training, or a combinationStrong background on hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting and repairSkills in set up, repair and maintenance of electronic systems 12v- 480vPLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with practical, mechanical and electrical aptitude.Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.Proficient with OXY/Acet torchProficient in all welding processesExperience working with heavy-duty conveyors, performing repairs and maintenanceAbility to work independently with minimum supervisionCMMS software experience preferredValid driver’s license.Mechanical or trade school certificate.Must be willing to work any shift & some weekendsBenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Short-Term & Long-Term DisabilityTraining & DevelopmentFCC Environmental Services, LLC operates in a multicultural, global environment and is a richly diverse organization operating seamlessly as one company.
