Genesis HealthCare in New Jersey is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help maintain our nursing center and grounds, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

You will perform a range of tasks from minor repairs to HVAC filter changes, assist with supplies, and step in for the maintenance supervisor when needed. A high school diploma and basic wiring/plumbing/carpentry knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, alarms and extinguishers.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies; assume maintenance supervisor responsibilities in their absence.
