Job summary

Phillips Management Group in Columbia, SC is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will keep our properties safe, attractive, and well‑maintained. You’ll work with the property management team and gain hands‑on experience across trades.

You should bring a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 months of related experience (preferred), a valid driver’s license, and your own tools. Certifications such as HVAC, CFC, or CPO are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• 1–3 months of related experience is preferred but not required.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Your own set of tools is preferred.
• Certifications such as HVAC, CFC, or CPO are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare apartments for new residents (turns & move-outs).
• Complete work orders efficiently and professionally.
• Keep exterior areas clean and well-presented (curb appeal).
• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance.
• Daily trash pickup and grounds upkeep.
• Maintain trash compactors and swimming pools (in season).
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, basic electrical, appliances, carpentry & drywall, roofing & flooring.
• Check irrigation systems and maintain records of work and materials used.
• Participate in the on-call maintenance rotation.
