Job summary

ARAUCO is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Moncure, NC. The role starts with day shift training and may move to a 12-hour rotating shift based on business needs.

You will respond to mill breakdowns, maintain logs, develop PMs, and coordinate with area operators to improve uptime. Ideal candidates have a two-year mechanical degree, 5 years of industrial mechanical experience, welding/fabrication skills, and strong communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in mechanical studies.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years of industrial mechanical skills experience (bearings, hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes).
• Industrial welding and fabrication experience.
• Industrial mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP (not required).
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Ability to work extended hours and rotating shift as required.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Respond to mill breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner with area operators.
• Maintain Maintenance Logbook current at end of each shift.
• Own assigned Area and support Area Management with downtime, quality, and safety issues.
• Assist in developing PMs for your area.
• Interact with Area Operators and PICs to address issues.
• Communicate maintenance issues to Operators, PICs, Planners, and peers.
• Coordinate with Area Planner for down day and daily schedules.
• Work with other crafts to increase uptime and assist during breakdowns.
• Review Action Log daily and resolve items with Area Planner.
• Investigate root cause of equipment failure and recommend long-term fixes.
• Enter work requests for follow-up work.
• Complete assigned work orders or PM/PdM activities.
• Pursue ongoing skill development through vendor training, web-based training, seminars, etc.
• Attend maintenance crew meetings and training sessions.
• Support Asset Reliability Process across Area Management, Planning, Scheduling, and Daily Schedules.
• Assist crew with meeting, training, and on-shift vacation coverage.
• Wear radio and communicate changes to operations and peers.
