Job summary

National Health Care Associates is seeking a Maintenance Assistant at our Augusta, ME facility. You will help with routine maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry, and assist with grounds upkeep to keep the environment safe and welcoming for residents and staff.

You will collaborate with nursing, housekeeping, and administration to handle maintenance requests and ensure safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance principles, techniques, and tools.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
• Help maintain exterior grounds, including landscaping and snow removal.
• Perform inspections on facility equipment to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with nursing, housekeeping, and administration to address maintenance-related issues.
