Job summary

Horizon Land Management is seeking a Full Time Maintenance Tech to service our Waterloo, IA communities. The role involves groundskeeping, landscaping, winter plowing and salting, and basic repairs to water/sewer lines and onsite structures. You will troubleshoot issues, respond to emergencies, and assist in securing homes as needed.

Ideal candidates can work independently, multitask, and operate large machinery. A valid driver’s license and willingness to be trained are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance or groundskeeping is preferred.
• Ability to think quickly and resolve issues.
• Ability to work independently and in a team when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining community grounds (trimming, mowing, trash pickup).
• Landscaping and seasonal exterior upkeep.
• Plowing and salting in winter months.
• Repair of water/sewer lines when needed.
• Maintenance of onsite structures, grounds and equipment.
• Assist in evictions by securing and padlocking homes.
• Troubleshoot problem areas and respond to emergencies.
