Job summary

Sun Communities is hiring a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities. You will handle home/building repairs, groundskeeping, snow removal where applicable, and ensure Sun’s properties remain clean, safe, and inviting for residents and guests.

Responsibilities include inspecting irrigation, plumbing, electrical, and equipment, reporting issues to the manager, and assisting with contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance techniques.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform outdoor work in varying temperatures.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work on-call.

Responsibilities

• Ensures trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets.
• Completes minor repairs to rental homes and facilities as needed.
• Inspects irrigation system regularly and performs repairs as needed.
• Maintains vacant sites, including strap-downs and removing trash and debris.
• Removes snow from community areas and uses plow, salt spreader, or shovel where applicable.
• Maintains lawns, treats for weeds, and trims hedges; handles tree limb removal as needed.
• Inspects playgrounds, pools, and recreational areas for safety and upkeep.
• Maintains community vehicles and equipment; reports issues to manager.
