Job summary

ESFM is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for the Haleon facility at 1211 Sherwood Avenue, Richmond, VA 23220. The role includes skilled maintenance, field leadership, quality assurance, and support for preventive maintenance programs.

Ideal candidates have four years of skilled trade or maintenance schooling, five years in institutional maintenance, and two years as a licensed Journeyman; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assists in making decisions on repairs; reports major problems to the maintenance supervisor and foreman.
• Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
• Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs or diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar specialty equipment items with appropriate training, certification skills and licensing requirements as needed.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Reads, comprehends and transmits complicated detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to other members of the department.
• Reviews work of outside vendors and licensed maintenance workers; makes punch lists.
• Reports on and repairs discrepancies as assigned.
• Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.
• Maintains logs, performs rounds and completes work orders, tests and inspections.
• Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.
• Serves as a member of facility emergency response team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Location: Haleon - 1211 Sherwood Avenue, Richmond, VA 23220 Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full time schedule. Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm and on-call rotation. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: General maintenance, basic plumbing, basic electrical, and basic HVAC experience is a plus.
• Pay Range: $25.00 per hour to $27.00 per hour

Job Summary
