Job summary

Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel in Mobile, AL is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to keep the property safe, functional, and guest-ready. You will perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and respond to service calls to ensure a top-notch guest experience.

This role emphasizes adherence to codes, diligent record-keeping, and collaboration with other teams to integrate new systems and maintain the hotel's high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Diligently determine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, and take corrective action per departmental procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to insurance, local, state, and federal codes; promote a safe work environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify defects in facilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues and take corrective actions per departmental procedures.
  • Respond promptly to service calls to address maintenance issues and guest requests.
  • Perform expert repairs and restoration in rooms, public spaces, and mechanical rooms.
  • Execute routine preventative maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Assist with maintenance on new construction projects and integrate new systems.
  • Maintain carpentry and painting upkeep for hotel's aesthetics.
  • Respond to guest complaints with courtesy and promptness.
  • Document all work, parts needed and used on service requests.
  • Keep a clean, organized work area and store tools safely.

Job Description:

As a member of our hospitality team, the primary responsibility of a Maintenance Engineer is to efficiently and effectively carry out repairs, maintenance, alterations, and installations following departmental procedures. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of the hotel property by conducting preventative maintenance, assessing and prioritizing tasks, and taking necessary actions to resolve issues efficiently. This role will also provide exceptional guest service, respond promptly and professionally to guest service calls, and play a vital role in creating a positive and enjoyable experience for our guests.

  • Diligently determine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, and take necessary corrective action, meticulously following specific departmental procedures and maintaining detailed records.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all insurance, local, county, state, and federal government codes, laws, and requirements related to maintenance activities. Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following established safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify defects and malfunctions in the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Skillfully troubleshoot issues and take appropriate corrective actions, adhering to specific departmental procedures.
  • Respond promptly to all service calls to address maintenance issues and guest requests.
  • Utilize expertise to perform expert repairs and restoration on all areas of the hotel, including rooms, public spaces, and mechanical rooms. Maintain a high standard of workmanship to uphold the hotel's image and reputation.
  • Execute routine preventative maintenance tasks on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment to ensure reliability and extend the life of assets. Regularly inspect and maintain building systems to prevent potential issues.
  • Take on specific maintenance repairs related to new construction projects as assigned through service requests. Collaborate with other teams to integrate new systems and facilities seamlessly.
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance for carpentry and painting tasks to keep the hotel's aesthetics at an optimal level.
  • Respond to guest complaints with exceptional courtesy and promptness.
  • Accurately document all work performed, parts needed, and parts used on service requests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment after use, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
