Job summary

Pasco County Schools, Food and Nutrition Services, is seeking a Maintenance Technician specializing in Food Service Preventive Maintenance. Based in Land O' Lakes, you will travel to multiple school sites across Pasco County, performing PM tasks on commercial kitchen equipment and assisting with repairs.

This full-time position is 12 months per year, 8 hours per day, with benefits. Requires high school diploma/GED, 2 years in a skilled trade or building maintenance, and a Florida driver license

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or Vocational Degree from an accredited institution.
• Two years’ experience of a skilled trade or general building maintenance.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for performing highly diversified craft trade activities with a focus on Food Service Preventative Maintenance. This includes performing preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning ice machines, wall-mounted fans, and refrigeration coils, sharpening knives, changing gaskets, assisting with moving and repairing equipment, and handling other related duties as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Preventive maintenance skills for commercial type kitchen equipment including changing can opener blades, sharpening knives, cleaning refrigeration coils and assisting repair techs.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or Vocational Degree from an accredited institution
• Two years’ experience of a skilled trade or general building maintenance
• OR
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

• Valid Florida driver license
• Must maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the District Safe Driver II Plan
