Job summary

Pasco County Schools is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Water/Sewer for the Maintenance and Facilities team in Land O' Lakes, FL. Under general supervision, you will perform diversified craft trade activities with a primary focus on water and sewer systems.

Preferred candidates bring experience in water and sewer utilities maintenance, pipefitting, backflow devices, and pump control circuitry. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and two years of skilled trade or building

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for performing highly diversified craft trade activities with a focus on Water/Sewer under general supervision.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in various aspects of water and sewer utilities maintenance; pipefitting, repair and service of backflow preventer devices and irrigation well systems; working electrical knowledge in installation, repairing and troubleshooting lift station and well motor/pump control circuitry; all phases of installation, repair and service at DEP permitted water and wastewater treatment facilities; grounds work of SWFWMD permitted storm water systems and other District wide sites as requested.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or Vocational Degree from an accredited institution
• Two years’ experience of a skilled trade or general building maintenance
• OR
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

• Valid and current Florida driver’s license
• Must maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the District Safe Driver II Plan. Driver’s license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
