Job summary

Briess Industries, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd, 3rd, or weekend shifts in Chilton, WI.

The role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in a food ingredients manufacturing environment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with food safety standards. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions while coordinating with production and leadership on timelines and downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred
• 2–5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, preferably food or regulated industry
• Experience working with industrial machinery and production equipment

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on processing, packaging, and utility equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions
• Maintain and service motors, conveyors, pumps, mixers, filling lines, and other production equipment
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions
• Identify root causes of equipment issues and recommend long-term solutions
• Communicate with production and leadership regarding equipment status and repair timelines
• Maintain building systems including HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and utilities
• Ensure maintenance work supports sanitary and food-safe conditions
• Adhere to OSHA safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures
• Record maintenance activities, work orders, and parts usage in CMMS
• Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and reorder levels
• Ensure documentation for compliance and traceability
• Support efficiency, waste reduction and cost-saving efforts
