Hourly Rate:

$30.58 an hour + $2ND: $0.25 - $0.40 shift differential

Maintenance Technician

Conagra Brand Foods (Vlasic), located in Imlay City, Michigan, is seeking experienced, self-motivated individuals interested in working in an industrial food manufacturing environment. If you enjoy technical challenges, you will excel in this position. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and rebuilding of production equipment.

Work location: Imlay City, Michigan. Shifts available: afternoon and midnight. The workweek begins Sunday night for the midnight shift, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The afternoon shift runs from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Overtime and weekend work are scheduled based on business needs.

Pay Rate:

The hourly rate depends on experience, skills, and certifications. The full mechanical rate is $30.58/hour, with a shift differential: $0.40/hour for 3rd shift, $0.25/hour for 2nd shift.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and suggest improvements for equipment.
2. Review daily schedules to ensure proper equipment setup.
3. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

1. Strong mechanical background, including fabrication and machine shop skills.
2. Ability to develop working relationships with colleagues and supervisors to address machine failures and implement preventive maintenance.
3. Complete work orders and record materials used.
4. Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, mechanical lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and hand tools.
5. Knowledge of conveyors, VFDs, motors, and industrial controls.
6. Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
7. Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.

Skills:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Skills in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gearboxes, boilers, etc.
3. Preferred: Journeyman, Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or engineering certificates.
4. Ability to work independently.
