Sun Tan City is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Ames to keep tanning and spa equipment in top condition and ensure a clean, welcoming environment for clients.

Responsibilities include repairing tanning equipment, managing facility appearance, and handling monthly inventory. The role may require two weeks of training and early start times, with options for on-call shifts and independent work within Sun Tan City's policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and building materials.
• Ability to read schematics is a plus.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised in a team environment.
• Accurate and attentive to detail while having the ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be well organized.

Responsibilities

• Position may require two weeks of out-of-town training. (Expenses paid.)
• The Maintenance Technician will be required to be at a salon by 7:00am each morning, Monday thru Friday.
• Repair and maintain UV and Sunless tanning equipment.
• Maintain overall appearance of assigned facilities.
• Complete monthly parts inventory in company vehicle.
• Must be available for alternating On Call shifts with other technicians.
• Manage Daily/Weekly reports and schedule accordingly.
• Track and record monthly expense reports.
• Work with Salon staff and others to uphold Sun Tan City policies and requirements.
• Complete weekly lamp changes in tanning equipment.
• Ability to work 5 days per week, and approximately a 40-to-45-hour work schedule depending on hourly or salary status.
• Ability to work independently and alone during shifts as business needs require.
