The Maintenance Technician at the Marriott Fairfield Inn East in Evansville, IN is responsible for ensuring the property is maintained in excellent condition at all times, with minimal inconvenience to guests and staff.

Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or one year of experience in a hotel or related field required.
  • At least two years of progressive experience preferred.
  • Trade school and/or college coursework in a related field preferred.
Qualifications

Physical requirements:

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Heavy work involving exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.

Work environment:

  • Indoor and outdoor hotel areas including kitchens, banquet spaces, rooms, and facilities.

Fundamental Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain the hotel’s air conditioning systems, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, electrical systems, etc.
  • Take and record readings on equipment, test cooling towers.
  • Replace and program televisions, light switches, receptacles, bulbs, fixtures.
  • Perform furniture repair, pump replacements, plumbing repairs, and troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
  • Read blueprints and wiring diagrams; trace and repair water lines.
  • Maintain repair records and ensure work complies with local, state, and federal codes.
  • Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas; paint, repair drywall, wall coverings, and electronic lock systems.
  • Assist with scheduling preventive maintenance tasks.
