Job summary

SSC Services for Education, a Compass Group company, is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician for TAMU CT in Killeen, TX. The role requires 2 years of maintenance experience and 4 years of skilled trades education, with a salary of $18.00 to $22.00 per hour.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–4:00 pm, with uniforms and benefits provided. Openings at other locations within the school district may be available; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.
• Must have one of the following licenses: Master license in one trade or Journeyman Electrical License or EPA certification in Refrigerant, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assists in decisions on normal and complex repairs; reports major problems to supervisor and foreman.
• Maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and related equipment.
• Reads and transmits complex written and verbal instructions.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to department members.
• Reviews work of outside vendors and creates punch lists.
• Maintains logs, completes work orders, tests and inspections.
