Job summary

Kennametal Inc. in Bedford, PA seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform predictive/preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support upgrades across mechanical and electrical systems.

The role requires strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, and electrical motors, with SAP-PM/Step 7 experience preferred. You will guide junior team members, ensure equipment availability, and prepare equipment installations while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's in Electrical/Controls preferred.
• 5–10 years' experience as a CNC maintenance technician preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, seals and electric motors and controls.
• Knowledge of SAP-PM and Step 7 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (mechanical, electrical).
• Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems and documents procedures.
• Prepare for new/relocated equipment installations by sizing, wiring, piping, ventilation, etc.
• Receive, rig, unload, transport, install, assemble, and test new/relocated equipment.
• Interface with outside contractors, OEMs and technology groups to install or upgrade processes.
• Safely handle hazardous materials and wastes.

Maintenance Technician Experienced

Location: Bedford,PA

Shift: 3rd shift: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am

Purpose Of The Position

Perform predictive/preventive maintenance analysis to anticipate and circumvent equipment failures, enhancing uptime and reducing costs

Knowledge And Experience

• High School diploma or GED;
• Preferred Bachelor's degree with focus in Electrical or Controls Engineering;
• 5-10yrs years’ experience preferred as CNC Maintenance Technician;
• Knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, seals and electric motors and controls;
• Preferred knowledge SAP-PM and Step 7;
• Knowledge and ability of rigging equipment and components.

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical);
• Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield;
• Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance);
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems;
• Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures;
• Prepare for new/relocated equipment installations by sizing, wiring, piping, ventilation, etc. according to incoming equipment requirements;
• Receive, rig, unload, transport, install, assemble, troubleshoot, and fine tune new/relocated equipment;
• Troubleshoot and perform necessary repairs on existing equipment;
• Assist engineers in identifying worn or damaged parts that may be needed to complete the repair;
• Interface with and assist outside contractors, OEM's and Technology Process Support groups, in all attempts to install new and repair or upgrade existing processes;
• Safely handle hazardous materials and hazardous wastes;
• Interface with in-plant Computerized Machine Maintenance System to show status of work and time spent on job.
