Job summary

Russel Metals is seeking a maintenance technician responsible for electrical and mechanical repairs in an open warehouse environment. You will perform diagnostics, dismantle and repair machinery, reassemble to spec, and ensure uptime through preventive maintenance.

Requirements include 2+ years in general maintenance with electrical/mechanical work, ability to read English and Metric measurements, and overhead crane experience. A safety-first mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years general maintenance repair experience with electrical and mechanical.
• Basic measuring skills to read English and Metric
• Experience with overhead crane operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow safety policies.
• Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment.
• Diagnose electrical or mechanical issues from error codes.
• Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair.
• Reassemble machines according to manufacturer requirements.
• Start machines and observe operation for efficiency.
• Inspect damaged parts and advise repairs.
• Lubricate and replace machine parts as needed.
• Record production, repair and maintenance data.
• Read work orders to identify equipment needing repair.
• Operate and adjust machines per specifications.
• Collaborate with coworkers to move/repair equipment.
• Maintain spare-parts inventory and preventive maintenance programs.
• Occasionally drive company vehicle for local parts pick-up.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
