Job summary

COFICAB Americas is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Electrical Experience) to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment. The role requires strong electrical troubleshooting skills to maximize uptime and ensure safe, efficient production.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues; reading schematics; maintaining records; and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Experience with automated production equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Troubleshoot control systems, motors, sensors, relays, contactors, and PLCs.
  • Read electrical schematics, diagrams, and manuals.
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history.
  • Support continuous improvement and downtime reduction.
  • Coordinate with production/engineering to resolve issues.
  • Maintain tools and spare parts inventory.

Maintenance Technician (Electrical Experience)

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Manager

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and production machinery. This position requires strong electrical troubleshooting skills to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems, motors, sensors, relays, contactors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support production by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
  • Install, test, and commission new machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory as needed.
Qualifications
Education
  • Technical degree or certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience with automated production equipment preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Electric motors, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Use of electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and clamp meters.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
