Job summary

ADVICS Manufacturing Georgia, L.L.C. in LaGrange, GA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep brake pad production running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot PLCs, diagnose faults, install equipment, read schematics, and support upgrades with Engineering and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance with 5–10 years in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, automation, PLC work and machine troubleshooting.
• Experience reading electrical schematics; knowledge of AC/DC amplifiers and servomotor repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems for plant machinery, including PLCs.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
• Install, test, and support new electrical equipment, ensuring proper connections.
• Use multimeters, scopes, and diagnostic tools to evaluate circuits and components.
• Monitor machinery for electrical performance issues such as overheating or degraded components.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to implement electrical upgrades or improvements.
• Create, track, and complete electrical maintenance work orders.
• Collect performance and fault data to guide repair priorities.
• Assist with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance focused on electrical components.
• Follow OSHA electrical safety guidelines, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and 5S standards.
• Ensure adherence to electrical codes and standards during maintenance and installations.
• Source electrical replacement parts and maintain stock for commonly used components.
• Coordinate with contractors for specialized electrical services when needed.
• Support shutdown prep by safely disabling all plant electrical and mechanical systems.

POSITION SUMMARY

To support the manufacture of high-quality brake pads in a safe and efficient manner.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems for all plant machinery, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• 2. Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and system malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
• 3. Install, test, and support new electrical equipment, ensuring proper connections and system integration.
• 4. Use analog and digital multimeters, scopes, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate circuits and components.
• 5. Monitor machinery for electrical performance issues such as overheating, irregular signals, or degraded components.
• 6. Work with Engineering and Quality teams to implement electrical upgrades or system improvements.
• 7. Create, track, and complete electrical maintenance work orders in the database.
• 8. Collect performance and fault data from inspections and maintenance logs to guide repair priorities.
• 9. Assist with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs, specifically focusing on electrical components.
• 10. Follow OSHA electrical safety guidelines, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and 5S standards.
• 11. Ensure adherence to industry electrical codes and standards during maintenance and installations.
• 12. Help source electrical replacement parts and maintain stock for commonly used components.
• 13. Coordinate with contractors or vendors for specialized electrical services when needed.
• 14. Support shutdown prep by securing and safely disabling all plant electrical and mechanical systems.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance (Preferred). With 5-10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. A combination of education and related experience will be considered. Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, automation, PLC work and machine troubleshooting. Experience with digital and analog AC/DC amplifiers, and servomotor repair. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems repairs (desired but not required).
