Job summary

Life Care Center of South Hill is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support preventive maintenance, repairs and replacements in a SNF setting. The role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to follow Life Care standards and state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of one year maintenance experience preferred
• Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred
• Knowledge of local building codes and ordinance preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements
• Inspect equipment/systems regularly for proper functioning and safety
• Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture and equipment
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
