Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a maintenance technician to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, including engines, motors, conveyors, and production machines. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, disassembly to access parts, inspection for wear, and reassembly with functional testing.

You will set up and operate lathes and drills to fabricate parts, lubricate components, and replace worn elements. A forklift license and safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

• 6 months of work experience in industrial/manufacturing/construction or landscaping environment.

Responsibilities

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Repairs electrical equipment.
