Qualifications

• 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a cold storage, warehouse, manufacturing, food processing, distribution, or similar industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment and facility systems.
• Experience working with conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and material handling equipment preferred.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including motors, controls, sensors, and industrial equipment.
• Experience working around refrigeration systems, ammonia refrigeration systems, or industrial utilities is preferred.
• Ability to work safely in a temperature-controlled cold storage environment.
• Ability to perform physical activities including lifting up to 75 lbs. unassisted, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet utilizing appropriate fall protection equipment.
• Ability to safely use manual, power, and diagnostic tools common to industrial maintenance.
• Ability to handle chemicals and maintenance-related products in accordance with SOPs, SDS requirements, and safety regulations.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.

Job description

The Fresh Mark Cold Storage facility in Massillon, Ohio, is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a 1st Shift position. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing cold storage warehouse equipment, material handling systems, refrigeration support equipment, and facility utilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial, warehouse, cold storage, or manufacturing environment and possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Must be hard working, detail oriented, and drug free.

Wage and Benefits

• Starting labor rate of $28.95/hr.
• $300 sign-on bonus after three months

• Adhere to all food safety, workplace safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and support critical cold storage utility systems, including anhydrous ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, boilers, compressed air, chilled water, fire suppression, and other facility infrastructure systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial mechanical and electrical equipment, including compressors, cooling towers, evaporative condensers, heat exchangers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, dock equipment, pallet handling systems, and forklift equipment.
• Monitor refrigeration and utility system performance to ensure continuous operation and proper storage temperatures.
• Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Report actual and potential food safety, equipment, environmental, and personal safety concerns to management immediately.
• Respond to routine maintenance requests and emergency breakdown situations in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in accordance with company procedures.
