We are seeking a CNC Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team. This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance professional with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machinery and industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe, efficient production.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and other production equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues to quickly restore equipment to operational status.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
- Repair or replace defective machine components using appropriate tools, equipment, and best practices.
- Assist with machine installations, equipment upgrades, and commissioning of new production equipment.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and extend machine life.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspections, and parts inventory.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and outside vendors to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize production downtime.
- Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance and maintenance processes.
- Remain flexible to changing production priorities and assist with facility maintenance projects as needed.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment.
- Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, or similar industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Basic understanding of CNC controls, PLCs, servo motors, VFDs, and industrial automation is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment drawings.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, contractors, and equipment vendors.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school, trade certification, or additional mechanical/electrical training preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or CNC machining environment preferred.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting industrial machinery.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work around industrial machinery.
