Westmoreland County Housing Authority is seeking a full-time skilled laborer to perform maintenance and custodial tasks across properties. The role requires a PA driver’s license and the ability to follow supervisor directions, with room to advance toward a Maintenance Mechanic level.

Candidates should possess general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC basics, plus the capacity to operate related equipment and complete administrative paperwork such as logs and work orders.

Formación

• Must have a valid PA driver’s license.
• Must be able to follow instructions from supervisor.
• All previous skills required at the Maintenance Custodial level.
• Must have the ability to learn more advanced skills pertaining to Maintenance Mechanic level.
• Must have general carpentry skills; see examples in the list below.

Responsabilidades

• Perform duties at Maintenance Custodial level and progress toward Maintenance Mechanic level.
• Repair or replace trim work and rubber base.
• Basic floor repair using wood and VCT floor tile.
• Change door locks.
• Install blinds and curtain rods.
• Repair screens and broken window sashes.
• Repair or replace storm doors and related items.
• Make repairs to damaged walls.
• Repair or replace faucets and minor plumbing leaks.
• Replace sinks and water closets.
• Unclog sanitation drains; check for gas leaks.
• Replace electrical outlets and switches; service light fixtures and ballasts.
• Service smoke and CO2 detectors; use testing meters.
• Replace thermostats; understand forced-air system cycles.
• Repair/replace small bathroom and kitchen fans.
• Fill out daily logs and work orders.
