Job summary

Rappahannock Area Community Services Board is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform and coordinate contracted building maintenance and repair work across agency buildings and grounds, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and janitorial tasks. Work is done under supervision and guided by agency policies and manuals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and extensive experience in common building trades.
• Knowledge of carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, janitorial, electrical and horticultural maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs building and fixture repairs/replacements (drywall, windows, doors, locks, toilets, plumbing leaks, water heaters, outlets).
• Preps and paints residential and administrative spaces.
• Installs shelves, cabinets, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, stoves, appliances.
• Maintains grounds and cleans facilities; operates and maintains tools and equipment.
• Schedules and performs routine maintenance; moves furniture and materials.
• Works with external contractors as needed.
