Job summary

Elderwood Administrative Services is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant at Elderwood at Lockport to maintain a safe, well‑kept environment for residents. Successful candidates will have experience in basic carpentry, plumbing and grounds maintenance, as well as snow removal.

Shift: full-time days (7am–3pm or 8am–4pm, early start during snow removal). You will assist with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, equipment, and grounds maintenance, and participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of related work experience in maintenance, carpentry, contracting, etc.
• Current, valid driver license
• Participation in facility on-call program which may include working off-hours
• Experience operating equipment such as lawn mowers, snowblowers, hand tools and electric tools
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities not required but a plus

Responsibilities

• Assists with electricity, plumbing, painting, carpentry and mechanical systems maintenance.
• Maintains grounds, parking lots and driveways, including snow/ice removal.
• Lifts and moves heavy furniture and equipment as needed.
• Observes residents' rights and treats all residents with courtesy and respect.
• Drives company vehicle as required and requested.
• Maintains safety and confidentiality of resident information.
