Job summary

Blue Water is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain property equipment and systems across RV resorts, campgrounds, hotels, and attractions. The ideal candidate will handle diverse tasks, follow safety procedures, and respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure guest satisfaction.

The role requires basic electrical/hydraulic knowledge, the ability to work overtime, and physical stamina.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a maintenance role.
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid driver's license may be required (dependent on the property).
  • Good physical condition and strength.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain property equipment, fixtures, or mechanics.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from management, staff, and residents.
  • Escort guests to their sites.
  • Prepare pools for opening and closing, including chemical testing and cleaning.
  • Inspect rental houses, buildings, and common areas.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and work orders.
  • Assist in preparing vacant rooms for new guests, including carpentry and painting.
  • Ensure the property remains guest-ready.
  • On-call rotation for emergencies.

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

THIS IS A WORK CAMPER ROLE. MUST LIVE ON PROPERTY AND HAVE YOUR OWN RV THAT IS FULLY CONTAINED. NO POP-UPS OR CONVERSIONS. IF RV IS OLDER THAN 10 YEARS OLD, MUST GET APPROVAL WITH PHOTOS.

The maintenance technician performs a range of duties, including installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining property and equipment. Maintenance Technicians ensure daily operational requirements are met to maintain optimal efficiency and exceed customer expectations.

  • Seasonal roles:
    • Seasonal roles are not eligible for health benefits
    • Seasonal roles are eligible for sick time and holiday pay.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Maintenance Technician has a basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems. Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods. Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain property equipment, fixtures, or mechanics.
  • Responds to management, staff, and resident maintenance requests and quickly executes the performance of requests
  • Escort guests to their sites
  • Help prepare the pool for opening and closing, as needed each day. Including chemical testing and cleaning.
  • Perform inspections of all rental houses, buildings, and common areas
  • Maintains tools and maintenance equipment to ensure they are in good working order; keeps the maintenance room in neat condition
  • Performs electrical, heating, and plumbing repairs, including Basic electrical ability, changing outlets, fixtures, and breakers. Basic HVAC knowledge of boilers and forced air furnaces. Basic plumbing, such as changing out faucets, re-piping, replacing toilets, replacing sinks, and unclogging drains
  • Maintain all maintenance logs, work orders, and any other paperwork as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of vacant rooms or houses for new guests, including carpentry work, drywall, painting, staining, and other necessary repairs and improvements
  • Ensure the property is clean, orderly, well-manicured, and always guest-ready.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Provides regular and reliable attendance
  • Must be willing to be on call rotation for a week, once every 3 weeks for emergency calls

The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

WHAT IT TAKES (PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items weighing over fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The hospitality environment is fast-paced, and you may sometimes be required to cover or assist with tasks/job functions outside of the job you were hired for. We need each of our team members to have an All-Hands-On-Deck mindset. This means you may be tasked with other functions and are expected to complete them with the same enthusiasm and dedication as your regular job duties.
