Job summary

Blue Water is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Bend, Oregon to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain property equipment and grounds. The role covers a wide range of tasks from carpentry and painting to basic HVAC and plumbing, with an emphasis on guest-ready properties.

Part-time and seasonal positions are available, with no health benefits for part-time staff, and seasonal staff receive sick time and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a maintenance or landscaping role.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical condition and strength; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain property equipment, fixtures, or mechanics.
• Respond to management, staff, and resident maintenance requests and quickly execute requests.
• Perform inspections of all buildings and common areas.
• Maintain tools and maintenance equipment to ensure they are in good working order; keep the maintenance room neat.
• Perform low-voltage electrical, heating, and plumbing repairs; basic HVAC knowledge helpful.
• Maintain all maintenance logs, work orders, and paperwork as needed.
• Assist in preparation of common areas including carpentry, drywall, painting, staining, and repairs.
• Ensure the property is clean, orderly, well-manicured, and guest-ready.
• Provide regular and reliable attendance.

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE
The maintenance technician performs a range of duties, including installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining property and equipment as well as groundskeeping. Maintenance Technicians ensure daily operational requirements are met to maintain optimal efficiency and exceed customer expectations.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Maintenance Technician has knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods. Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices as well as experience in groundskeeping including, mowing, trimming, raking, etc. Experience with spa maintenance and testing is also a plus.

• Performs low-voltage electrical, heating, and plumbing repairs. Basic HVAC knowledge of boilers and forced air furnaces. Basic plumbing, such as changing out faucets, re-piping, replacing toilets, replacing sinks, and unclogging drains. Basic knowledge of sprinkler systems is also helpful.
• Maintain all maintenance logs, work orders, and any other paperwork as needed
• Assist in the preparation of common areas, including carpentry work, drywall, painting, staining, and other necessary repairs and improvements
• Ensure the property is clean, orderly, well-manicured, and always guest-ready.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Provides regular and reliable attendance

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
WHAT YOU BRING

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age!
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a maintenance or landscaping role
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• A valid driver's license may be required (dependent on the property)
• Good physical condition and strength

WHAT IT TAKES (PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items weighing over fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The hospitality environment is fast-paced, and you may sometimes be required to cover or assist with tasks/job functions outside of the job you were hired for. We need each of our team members to have an All-Hands-On-Deck mindset.
