Job summary

East West Tea Company, LLC in Eugene, Oregon, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the C shift (graveyard) from 10pm to 6:30am. This full-time role supports the operation of equipment in our manufacturing facility and maintains production reliability.

You will troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on high-speed packaging machinery, pneumatic and vacuum systems, and related equipment. Strong analytical skills, attention to safety and adherence to FDA CFR 111 are essential,

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years' experience with high-speed packaging equipment.
  • 3–5 years' experience with pneumatic controls.
  • 3–5 years' experience with vacuum transfer systems.
  • Ability to measure to 0.01 mm and understand metric sizes.
  • Food, beverage or dietary supplement industry experience preferred.

East West Tea is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Maintenance Technicianto join our Maintenanceteam to support the operation of machinery within the manufacturing facility.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment used in the production and packaging of East West Tea Company, LLC products. This includes regular inspection of equipment, structures or material, preventative maintenance, and machine repair as required. Maintenance technicians follow established work guidelines, procedures, or verbal instructions as well as independently troubleshoot and problem solve unscheduled variances. Adherence to FDA CFR 111 and all company procedures involving health, safety, and food safety while completing work is essential.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN:

Documentation 20% of time

  • Ability to timely author concise reports describing work performed, i.e. troubleshooting, repairing, sanitizing, adjusting, calibrating and changing parts or other activities related to production equipment

Troubleshooting 40% of time

  • Troubleshoot, analyze and repair automated production equipment; fix defective parts.
  • Ability to think analytically and logically in order to construe slight manufacturing imperfections in automated production equipment.

Repair/ Maintenance 40% of time

  • Effectively and safely operates standard maintenance tools such as power tools and basic hand tools.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform detailed preventative maintenance as assigned on various equipment, production systems or processes.

WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCED:

  • 3-5 years' experience with high-speed packaging equipment, 150 pieces per minute minimum.
  • 3-5 years' experience with low pressure pneumatic and associated controls, pneumatic ladder logic a plus.
  • 3-5 years' experience with vacuum transfer systems.
  • Knowledge and use of all measuring instruments, be able to work down to .01mm (.0005).
  • In-depth knowledge of the metric system: bolt and thread sizes, pipe sizes, etc.
  • Food, Beverage or Dietary Supplement experience preferred but not required
