*** THIS IS A 12 HOUR ROTATING DAY SHIFT POSITION 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Position Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician - Automation is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of assembly, subassembly, printing, and packaging machines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain a clean and safe work area; report unsafe conditions.
- Read, interpret, and use measuring devices, gauges, and inspection tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Ensure product quality by identifying acceptable and non-acceptable products per quality policies.
- Participate in team activities and suggest improvements.
- Respond to machine alarms; identify and resolve root causes.
- Follow all 5S guidelines.
- Conduct inspections following cGMP guidelines and document accordingly.
- Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical malfunctions.
- Adjust assembly machines for production runs per specifications.
- Repair and maintain electrical controls, including servicing, repairing, and testing.
- Assist with uploading programs to controls during program loss or CPU replacement.
- Repair robot arms and controls, replacing boards, motors, encoders, etc.
- Participate in TPM activities as required.
- Input maintenance work orders into SAP.
- Monitor processes; address issues with corrective actions.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Conduct root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issues.
- Propose improvements for efficiency and safety.
- Comply with all company policies.
- Troubleshoot and locate equipment problems.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel and technical support.
- Restore damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Manage downtime by scheduling repairs.
- Maintain communication with Maintenance Leader.
- Keep track of CMMS work orders and timelines.
- Assist other maintenance staff as needed.
- Conserve resources during maintenance tasks.
- Ensure work is completed with technical excellence, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in a technical, hands-on role.
- Experience with complex assembly automation.
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to push, pull, climb ladders, stand, and walk throughout shifts.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP (preferred).
- Ability to work independently with verbal and written instructions.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Mechanical skills and ability to use basic hand tools.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Manufacturing environment with moderate noise; PPE and cleanroom apparel required.
