Job summary

Gallin Associates in Jackson, TN is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (10:30pm–7am, four days). You will use Proteus CMMS to schedule work, locate parts, and log history for equipment.

The role requires assessing equipment, collaborating with the team, and performing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs. Experience with PLCs and preferred Allen-Bradley programming; strong problem-solving and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from college or technical school preferred.
  • 3+ years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedures and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Internet software.
  • May be required to have/obtain licenses to operate powered industrial trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or other equipment.
  • Allen-Bradley PLC programming experience preferred.
  • Desire strong mechanical and electrical experience in a manufacturing environment, as well as strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Operate Proteus CMMS for scheduling, parts reordering, and recordkeeping.
  • Observe machines and identify repair needs by visual inspection.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff for diagnosis and repair.
  • Inspect, test, and lubricate machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantle equipment to access components and install replacements.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
  • Operate testing devices, welders, drill press, grinders, torches, and saws.
  • Inspect and repair electrical components such as transformers and wiring.
  • Communicate task results to team leaders and escalate issues as needed.
  • Maintain equipment manuals library and equipment history.
  • Maintain training level to perform adequate maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Maintenance Technician job at Gallin Associates. Jackson, TN.

  • 3rd shift 10:30pm-7am 4 days a week
  • Utilize Proteus computerized maintenance management system for work scheduling, obtaining location and reordering of replacement spare parts, and recording work performed for equipment history.
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and use your senses and devices to identify the need for repair or maintenance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff as needed for the correct diagnosis and repair of machines.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantle equipment to gain access to remove adjust or replace consumable components, or install new or repaired parts in defective machine and/or equipment.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Operate testing devices, welders, drill press, grinders, oxy fuel and propane torches, saws to maintain machines and equipment.
  • Inspect, clean, lubricate, and repair truck loading dock plates to maintain in operational order.
  • Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.
  • Test automated machinery and verify repairs.
  • Test and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Inspect and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of facility equipment, including re-securing contact terminations. Inspect and test equipment such as transformers, motors, controls, lighting fixtures, wiring, and component parts.
  • Inspect and repair or replace faulty electrical components such as printed circuit boards.
  • Communicate task completed to team leaders and supervisors before leaving the area.
  • Communicate faulty conditions found during equipment evaluations to the Maintenance Coordinator and Technicians for follow-up repair or replacement beyond your experience level.
  • Communicate the required supply of essential spare parts.
  • Maintain production and facilities equipment manuals library relating to the facility.
  • Maintain up-to-date equipment history.
  • Maintain training level to perform adequate maintenance performance.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
