Job summary

Investment Property Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Parkview Apartments, a 224-unit affordable community in Minneapolis, MN. The role involves performing maintenance tasks to uphold cleanliness, safety, and functionality of buildings, grounds, and common areas while serving residents with care.

You will respond to service requests, diagnose issues, and complete work orders in a timely, professional manner. Overtime is provided for on-call hours; schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience as a Maintenance Technician at a multifamily community of 100+ units.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Experience with plumbing, HVAC, and appliance repairs (stoves, fridges, washers, dryers).
  • Employees must supply their own hand tools and use them safely.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Represent IPG professionally at all times.
  • Complete work orders and preventative maintenance; diagnose and repair defects per policies and code requirements.
  • Manage materials and inventory; notify supervisor about re-orders.
  • Perform general maintenance to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Foster positive resident relations and respond to service requests promptly.
  • Assist with inspections and upkeep of common areas; follow preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Support achievement of occupancy goals and quality living experiences for residents.
  • Collaborate with management to develop more efficient maintenance methods.
  • Participate in after-hours and emergency coverage rotation.

Position Overview:
  • Job Title: Maintenance Technician
  • Salary: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, education, and prior experience
  • On-Call Rotation Schedule: Participation in after-hours on-call rotation schedule is required; overtime pay is provided for on-call hours worked

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team at ParkviewApartments, a 224-unit affordable apartment community located in Minneapolis, MN. As a part of a community-focused team, you will play a vital role in serving residents with care, responding to service requests promptly and professionally, and take pride in maintaining the property to the highest standards. This position involves performing technical and mechanical work that ensures the physical appearance of the buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas of the property meet the Company's standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and overall functionality.

How you will make an impact:
  • Represent Investment Property Group in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance on the property by diagnosing the source of the defect or problem, and making repairs in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety standards, and code requirements.
  • Follow procedures for accessing and obtaining materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and other items from the property’s maintenance department by tracking inventory used, returning unused items to the established location, and notifying the maintenance supervisor about re-ordering needs.
  • Perform general community and facilities maintenance under minimum supervision in a manner that meets optimum quality and efficient production.
  • Promote positive, proactive resident relations by demonstrating fair, and consistent treatment during all resident interactions.
  • Assist with inspections and upkeep of the property and all common areas daily to detect maintenance problems that require attention.
  • Follow a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Contribute to the achievement of occupancy goals and promote quality living experience for residents by effectively performing maintenance tasks
  • Serve as a resource for management and assistant in the development and communication of more efficient methods of maintaining the apartment community
  • Participate in after-hour and emergency coverage rotation schedule.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 1+ years' experience as a Maintenance Technician at a multifamily community of 100+ units.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with residents and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Superior customer service, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to respond to after-hour emergencies as needed and participate in on-call rotation schedule.
  • Experience and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and appliance repairs (stoves, refrigerators, washer, dryers, etc.).
  • Employees must supply their own hand tools and possess knowledge and skills in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, mechanical equipment and measuring devices.
  • Strong communication skills and works well as a team.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
