Job summary

Precision Strip, Inc. in Canton, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair metal processing plant machinery. You will perform a mix of planned preventive maintenance and unplanned repairs to keep operations running.

You will read mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical drawings, troubleshoot hydraulics and PLC circuits, assist installation of new equipment, and collaborate across shifts. This role requires strong hands-on fabrication skills and a sense of urgency to minimize

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic and electrical drawings.
• Proficient at troubleshooting hydraulics (pumps, motors, valves, cylinders) and electrical systems (single phase, DC, PLC).
• Experience with fabrication and welding processes; plasma and torch experience preferred.
• Strong communication across shifts and teams; able to work with urgency and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to schedule preventative maintenance and maintain records.
• Ensure inventory of spare parts, supplies, and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot root causes of unplanned maintenance and apply corrective actions.
• Assist installation and assembly of new equipment and improvements to facilities.
